FAQ

What is Acupuncture? Acupuncture is Chinese Medicine that is used to treat any kind of health problem. It is a complete system of medicine that has diagnosed and treated illnesses for over 5,000 years.
How does Acupuncture Work? Tiny needles are inserted at specific points on the body. This allows the body to heal itself naturally by strengthening the organs, increasing circulation, and moving energy throughout the body where it is needed.
Why doesn’t it hurt? The Acupuncture needles are painless because their size is not much larger than a strand of human hair. The needles are pre-sterilized and used only once.
How is Chinese Medicine different from Western Medicine? Chinese Medicine treats the cause of the disease allowing the body to heal itself. Western Medicine focuses primarily on the patient’s symptoms using pharmaceuticals. In other words, Chinese medicine treats the cause of the problem, while Western medicine tends to simply alleviate the symptoms.
What is our purpose? To help as many people as possible to avoid any unnecessary medicines or surgeries. We strive to have acupuncture be considered the primary course of care forĀ one’s health.
Does insurance cover Acupuncture? Since the recent acceptance of Acupuncture by the national Institute of Health, more health insurance companies are covering Acupuncture. In North Carolina, Mail Handlers, United Health Care, and Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield cover Acupuncture by a Nationally Certified Licensed Acupuncturist. We are a pre-pay office but will help our patients fill out their claim forms for re-imbursement.
How much does it cost? Acupuncture treatments are $85.00 each. We do offer book keeping savings when treatments are bought in bundles ahead of time.
